في تجربة أجرتها باحثان في جامعة هارفارد عام ١٩٩٩، تم تسجيل فيلم قصير لفريقين يلعبان كرة السلة ويرتدي أحدهما ثيابا بيضاء، ثم عرض الفيلم على عدد كبير من الطلبة، وطلب منهم عد كم تمريرة قام بها لاعبو الفريق الأبيض وكم تمريرة للاعبي الفريق الآخر..
وبعد الانتهاء من عرض الفيلم سُأل الطلبة”من منكم رأي الغوريلا”.. حيث كانا الباحثان قد قاموا بإضافة لقطات لغوريلا تجري في الملعب وسط اللاعبين تظهر لمدة ٣٠ ثانية ، وكانت المفاجأة أن ٥٠٪ ممن شاهدوا الفيلم لم يروا هذه الغوريلا أصلًا.
وفي كتاب الغوريلا الخفية، يتحدث عن الأوهام أو الخدع، التي يقع فيها الدماغ بشكل يومي. وهي خدع قد تكون خطيرة، لأنها تدفعك لاتخاذ قرارات خاطئة. وأنت تعتقد بصحتها !!
فكيف يمكن للأوهام أن تتلاعب بعقلك دون أن تشعر؟!
